For you ladies with hypo and pregnant or been pregnant, how many times did you increase your dose ? Just interested to know as I have had to do mine twice already.

Some will not need to raise, most will need to raise a few times especially in the 1st trimester before the baby produces its own thyroid, & some will need to raise many times. Everyone is different.

Are you under GP care? How often are they checking your levels to make sure you are on the right dose?

They checked it at 6 weeks then at 12 weeks. I have another test in 4 weeks. Just wondered what others are experiences with thyroid . The wiered thing is I wasn't even hypothyroid diagnosed my antibodies were 109 which they considered borderline

Read hypothyroidmom.com & buy the book she wrote with Mary Shoman (it will be advertised on her website) specifically about pregnancy.

I've seen her website many times. I've read about thyroid , online for the past 6 months and also started my own blog. I am under the care of my obstetrician. Thanks for the reply though

Please insist they test antibodies, FT3/4 and not just the bog standard TSH level, I ended up an awful mess after my 2 year old.

Good luck and congrats

my antibodies were 109 before pregnancy . Now they just do the basic thyroid tests...Okay I'll speak to them about this.
