Blood results for t3 help please

Hi can anyone please help with my blood results following. TSH 0.07 (0.35-5.00) ft4 15.1 (9.0-21.0) ft3 1.3 (0.9-2.5)

I am currently on 200mg thyroxine and wanting to try t3 ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Laurenm,

TSH is suppressed and FT4 is mid-range but FT3 is less than half way through range. If you are symptomatic it may help to add some T3 to Levothyroxine.

Thank you. Dr has told me it's normal so frustrating. Still have symptoms and been on thyroxine for over 5 years. Been on 200 for about 4 years. Do you have any advice for introducing t3 ?

If you are self medicating the T3 tablets are 25mcg which is equivalent to 75mcg Levothyroxine. Start by adding 6.25mcg (a quarter of a tablet) to Levothyroxine. If necessary, you can add a second dose of 6.25mcg a couple of weeks later but do arrange a FT3 test six to eight weeks later to check FT3 remains within range. Adding T3 will further suppress your TSH and your GP may want to reduce your Levothyroxine dose.
