I seem to be getting thirstier by the day...And passing lots of urine... I don't drink caffeine, just water or fruit tea... Is this common with HYPER? (Diagnosed 6-7 weeks ago T4 51, 20 mg Carbi)

TIA

Do not know about hyper but might suggest diabetes.

If I remember right it was four weeks, your body just adjusts to it. Good luck. If continues get diabetes check but hopefully it's just same as me.

Thank you... slightly more worrying as I was diagnosed almost 6 weeks ago... I had a lot of salty food yesterday, so perhaps that has made it worse today? Fingers crossed.

I'll give it another day or two... Thanks again

I do not know but thyroid and diabetes seem to go together.I was diagnosed diabetic in December and was back to "normal" by March having cut out all cakes ,scones and sugar rich yoghurts. But still have up to four trips a night !

Wife having similar problem and awaiting blood results.

Thanks... Yes, apparently they do... Wow four times per night! Do you get to sleep? I only go once mostly... Although today during the day probably 8 times!!

I will wait a day or two... See if it settles, if not...back down to docs! Ugh. Thank you

Sometimes takes 30 mins to get back to sleep.

Japanese research on BBC web today says sleeping for an hour plus during day is a sign of possible Type 2 diabetes.

thats interesting... sometimes i feel like i could sleep through the day but its not something i do unless desperate! you must be tired all the time, poor you... losing so much sleep :-(

I'm constantly very thirsty, but I'm hypo (Hashimoto's), though I did get hypo/hyper/hypo swings. Before getting diagnosed I was tested for diabetes as well, as the doc was horrified that I wake up about 5 times per night to drink a glass of water....

I was really thirsty and at one time thought I might have T1 diabetes as my symptoms were quite similar to my sons before he was diagnosed but I didn't have the weight loss he had so thought otherwise. I was very tired and achy, sort of flu like symptoms.

Yes I get thirsty when hyper, it's usually a warning sign I need to have blood test.

Dry mouth and thirst comes as a part of it honey, may be worth getting a glucose tolerance test but as a standalone symptom its very typical of hyperthyroidism...dry eyes too.

You will feel better, despite having these symptoms now, they dont stay quite as bad for most of us hypers.

Good luck sweetheart.
