So when I learned of my dosage level it literally scared my pants off...God have mercy on my soul...but I can't stand my doctor..he seems so extreme..for the love of God..I don't have a thyroid and the cancer was well contained...I can't sleep...thinking that I will become a mutant or a ninja turtle...sorry folks that is the way I survive through humor...Will I glow @night? All joking aside...I'm scared..the TT was hard ...the zero thyroid meds was the hardest...but now RAI and his high dose .. I was thinking my dose would be around 50...I shouldn't have read all the bad possibilities . That was dumb...I been crying off and on..but not in front of my daughter...just can't see myself getting through this!!!! My dose too high...??? Help Lord I want off this ride!!!..I got my thyroid meds in my hand now just three more days of no hormone then I start taking it...but I will not take it like he said 240 for 7 days...!!! Nope ...back to RAI...I saw some scary after RAI videos...and can't sleep now...if you have a positive RAI story please tell me your story...

Itsjakefromstatefarm,

First RAI I had was 3,700MBq or 100mCi. I was quarantined in hospital isolation for 3 days until levels dropped <20mCi.

I was encouraged to drink copious amounts of fluids and to shower several times a day to flush the radiation.

I didn't have any adverse effects but after a second lower dose a few months later I experienced a dry mouth which improved (although can still be a problem at night) and occasional taste disruption.

I suggest you take the 240mg NDT you have been prescribed as you are running on empty and need to build up hormone ASAP not least to suppress TSH which reduces the likelihood of recurrence.
