My doctor filled out a requisition for a urine test to be done. Since I work for a lab I fortunately get my blood work done for free... So I checked in a few extra boxes on the requisition for blood tests that I'd like to get done. Do you think the doctor will have an issue with this? What should I tell him?

Is it hand written or computer generated? If it's hand written he probably will never know. If it's computer generated, he will know, so I would suggest asking him. I've phoned my doctor and asked the secretary, and they've let me add things. However, I have been known to add the odd thing here and there when it was handwritten....
It was a hand written form, he checked the box for the urine tests with a pen and gave me the paperwork. I just checked other boxes for extra tests. He always calls for a visit to review the tests and will definitely see all the other test results
But he might not remember what he checked off unless he made a photocopy of it.
I've done it and I've also asked for tests while in the office, the doctors have ordered them, and then questioned why they ordered the tests when they got the results, LOL. They can't remember what they have or have not ordered most of the time unless they have an original copy right in front of them.
It's your choice though.
my surgery used to issue forms with boxes and I was always tempted to tick off more boxes but never did. I wonder if people did that because now the computer prints exactly what the doctor asks for. Good luck, give it a go. You get it done for free anyway.
I add extra tests to my son,s bloodwork all the time and if the doctor picks up on it I have a pretty lengthy reply ready for him. This is in the uk and I am often told I should not do this....I politely tell him I am saving time and money as I would otherwise have to make a new app to ask for the tests.
It is not a random thing, I am a retired nurse and only order relevant tests.
