Kliovance

I have been taking kliovance tablets for several years, as much as anything to help with my bone density as I was diagnosed with ostiopenia a few years ago. I am now wondering whether to cease taking HRT altogether in favour of a herbal remedy. I would be grateful to hear from anyone else in a similar situation as I certainly don't want to experience hot flushes etc. etc. and I don't know whether simply to stop taking the tablets or to reduce the dosage slowly. Should I begin taking some alternative medication, such as Serenity, before or after stopping taking Kliovance ? My doctor isn't much help to be frank, other than harping on about the dangers of breast cancer; this irritates me because I would rather deal with what I actually HAVE, ie. low-ish bone density, rather than worrying about something that MIGHT happen in the future ! Hoping to hear from you !

Might be worth going onto the website of Dr Sarah Myhill - she has some good lifestyle choices and supplements for osteoporosis .....

Haven't checked - but maybe good advice about leaving HRT behind too :-)

Thank you. There is a veritable wealth of information on this website!

Hi I have Osteopenia since I was 46 and am now 64. I have never been given anything for it except Hrt. When I reached 60 the doctor said I must come off it so I did, well after 4 yrs I still have hot flushes quite frequently. I am due a bone scan soon and am interested to see if there has been any change now I am not on hrt. Still not been treated for bone loss, but I do try to eat well and walk when I can. I have disc degeneration so can't do any major exercise. Ever since turning 60 my doctors have appeared to put everything down to age which I find quite patronising. I am interested to hear from anyone who has used Serinity and found it helped with flushes. Good luck

Thank you so much for responding. I have had a few bone density scans over the years and I have definitely increased my bone density by taking Solgar's Calcium, Magnesium and Boron. Nothing offered by my doctor of-course !! I would also like to hear from anyone who has used Serenty.
