Out of stock Mercury brand: My usual and only... - Thyroid UK
Out of stock Mercury brand
Or get a pill cutter and cut in half x
I spoke to my pharmacist who managed to get some in for me.
Hi yes I have as well been unable to get some Mercury stuff for 2/3 months.I insisted this time to know what the issue was.i was told that Lloyds pharmacies do not now deal with Mercury pharma/Armco so no further supplies would be got.this also applies to Sainsburys since they use the same supplier.
So I was being fobbed off then !!! I keep getting told to come back I wonder who still stocks Mercury I guess I have to leave my lloyds service then and just get prescription then
Actually, it looks to me as if there are many whisps of wool being pulled over eyes here.
So far as I am aware, it is in the contract that pharmacies must supply any medicines that are prescribed. If you took a prescription made out expressly for Mercury Pharma levothyroxine, they would have to supply it. Or break their NHS contract. (If it is available at all, they obviously cannot magic it up out of nowhere!)
Therefore, their unwillingness to supply is exactly that - unwillingness - and not impossibility.
At least for your next prescription, if you do not have any local options, you could consider an online pharmacy that is willing and able to supply what you want:
nhs.uk/Service-Search/pharm...
I intend to continue getting paper prescriptions as long as possible as they enable me to choose any pharmacy, anywhere. Including abroad in many cases. The various electronic systems can reduce your freedom.
Hello hellvela, I thought that also, alas no can do,they say!My prescription has always specified that particular brand and in the past it was ordered in specially each time.
The same company has vastly increased the price of T3 .Could this be a way of getting them to reconsider? Probably not that clever in NHS.
