Hi, I could use some help. My lab tests came back one month ago and the iron levels were as follows: Iron 58 (range 50-170) and Ferretin 43 (range 20-204). My doctor didnt seem I needed to supplement.

Janakigr,
My understanding is that ferritin needs to be around 100 through to half way in range.

Hi janakigr
I was the same. My ferritin was 5 points off being anemic but doc said it was normal!!! Because it was In 'normal' range. Well, normal for one is not necessarily normal for another my endocrinologist told me and put melon ferrous sulphate - and wow! It made all the difference for me.
When I started my ferritin was 34 but it's now at 80 Btw. And I think with hashis all blood range should be above half way/ near the upper ranges for us.
I have an allergy to beef and only eat lamb once a week so I don't get much iron in my diet so I'm still on them but only X1 a day now as opposed to 3.
Maybe tell the doctor you'd like to start a course and see how you get on 😄
if you have digestive issues or bloating you can have low ferritin or iron and many times deficient and many other areas as well.....
