Is it ok to do a thyroid 12 test while on your period?

Hi,

I am booked into have my test done tomorrow morning but out of the blue I have a period. Will this effect the results? Sorry if that sounds like a daft question just want to get it right. Blooming hormones! I can postpone if needed. Thanks for your help.

I thought something so checked if there was any research on it. Apparently iron levels, both haemoglobin and ferritin, are lower for women on their period.

So it makes sense to have any tests that involve iron around the same time of month each time.

I don't know about other hormones.
