I asked endocrinologist to change my Levothyroxine. I was on 100mcg. He prescribed T3 which I got from Greece as others suggested here. I lost the prescription but I'm sure it was 20mg 3 times a day. As the ones I got are 25mg, should I take one twice a day or even try half, four times a day. Also, do I take with food or not and what time would be best. I don't want to go back to Endo until I have tried these for a couple of weeks. Any advice?

T3 medication
jacintamoore T3 is approx 3-4 times as potent as Levo so 25mcg T3 is equal to approx 75-100mcg Levo.
I would go slow and gradual. Get a good pill cutter (mine is a white Safe & Sound, cost less than £2 and is very good if you lower the blade gently to cut the tablet). I would start with 6.25mcg x twice daily for a week or two, then add another 6.25mcg to the morning dose for a week or so, then 6.25mcg to the afternoon dose so by 3-4 weeks you're taking 25mcg and see how you are. Others might not agree but I wouldn't do a straight swap, it's potent stuff and some people react quite badly to starting with a highish dose.
Treat T3 the same as Levo as far as food and supplements are concerned. Just take with water an hour before, or two hours after food.
I agree with Susie. Starting on 60 a day would be madness! Especially as you probably weren't converting the levo, and that's why it didn't work for you.
Take it as you would levo, one hour before food, or two after. As to the times of taking it... that all comes down to trial and error. You have to find what's best for you. Why not try half in the morning, and half before bed, for a start.
