I have always slept well (and still do) except I am now awake at 4:30/5 am and wide awake. It makes the day very long as I have a demanding job. I've never been a morning person so am finding it very strange!
I'm also very hot at night.
I'm taking 2 Grams of T3 and apart from this am feeling really well. Any ideas??

You haven't been medicating long and thyroid hormones take a while to settle.
Low thyroid hormone can cause unbalanced cortisol levels. Cortisol helps control the way your body uses fats, proteins and carbs. It also reduces inflammation and works with aldosterone that regulates regulates sodium// potassium and helps maintain BP.
Waking early mornings can be a sign of adrenal issues. It is important to stabilise your blood sugar levels from the time you eat dinner to the time you go to bed. A balanced meal of protein, low GI carb and healthy fats is important and a bedtime snack if necceassry. Some take a snack to bed with them to eat when they wake or an "adrenal cocktail". I haven't tried this but many swear by it. Google "adrenal cocktail".
Keep hydrated with water day & night and support the adrenals with Vit C and optimal nutrients and a healthy life style.
Not sleeping well and being hot may indicate over medicating. Are you going to retest thyroid hormone after six weeks ? /... Does T3 come in grains ? ? ....
Thank you. As you can tell I'm not really sure about anything really! I have a blood test in two weeks time so I'm hoping to see a clearer picture then.
I was told one tablet of the t3 I take was a grain....no idea!!
I was on 125 levothyroxine (for about 8 years) and I came off that for a month and then began with one tablet of t3 approx 5 weeks ago and then upped it to 2 tablets 3 weeks ago.
I have been on 60mcg t3 for nearly 10 years before that I was on 250mcg Levo, t3 is 3-4 times more potent than t4 so I would maybe cut one of your tablets in half and try 37.5 mcg see how you go with that or maybe wait until your bloods get done. But unless your GP test free t3 you might not get a good idea anyway. As t3 will suppress your TSH especially if you are slightly over medicated. Does your GP know you are on t3?
