Brightrock,

Are the results in Years 1-5 for FT4?

Please include the TSH and FT4 ranges.

TSH range is usually 0.27-4.2 or 0.35-4.2. Results below range indicate overmedication when FT4 is over range.

Brightrock,

year 1 18.2. FT4 is within range 12-22

Y2 20.3. FT4 is in the upper quadrant of range 12-22

Y3 23.7. FT4 slightly over range 12-22.

Y4 16.3 FT4 less than mid-range 12-22.

Y5 25.1 FT4 over range 12-22.

Year 1 TSH 0.39 is within range 0.3-4.2

Year 2 TSH 0.11 is below range as FT4 is higher than Y1.

Year 3 TSH 0.18 is below range because FT4 is over range.

Year 4 TSH 0.33 is within range because FT4 has dropped.

Year 5 TSH 0.10 is below range because FT4 is over range.

Just because your TSH is suppressed does not mean you are suddenly over active. Do you have symptoms of overactivity?

Hi no not as far as I can tell!! But all the other symptoms have never gone away.. As on 125mcg t4/day.. But I am now trying to medicate every other day to see if helps..the last 6 days.. Feels sort of the same!..am monitering closely further tests on blood this week.. And then I suppose a summons back to the GP.. Which as others I have little faith.. After my disgust last year of being offered a Gastric Band!!!.. Beggars belief..why don't they deal with the thyroid issue?...

You mean you're taking 125 mcg one day, and nothing the next? I don't think that will help, you'll be grossly under-medicated.

Your TSH was never suppressed - suppressed = 0.01. And, as your doctor has never tested your FT3, he has absolutely no idea if you are over-medicated. Therefore, no justification for reducing your dose. He's just another complete no-runner in the thyroid stakes. Either change your doctor or learn about your disease so that you can take charge of your own health, and get yourself well - because he never will!
