I actually just feel like posting these results as it's such a rare test and I wonder what you guys make of the values
Basal TSH 1.96mIU/L0.27 - 4.2
FREE THYROXINE 12.2pmol/l12.0 - 22.0
TSH at 20 Minutes 10.18 mIU/L
TSH at 60 Minutes 14.67 mIU/L

Emstar1982,
Were the results explained to you? I'm seeing TSH significantly increased from baseline 20 and 60 minutes after TRH was administered.
Hey clutter, thanks for replying. I have to wait for 3 weeks before I can hear back, but I just wondered what people here thought. It's quite hard to find an interpretation online! Hmm. From what I've read it's supposed to decline after 20 minutes, not continue to rise, but I could be wrong!
Emstar1892,
It's not something I'm familiar with. Maybe you'll find something in these posts healthunlocked.com/search/t...
Hi Emstar, I replied via PM, but I've found this other paper which may be more helpful.
I wasn't sure if the TSH rises after 20 minutes in tertiary hypothyroidism or if it flat lines and then shoots up at 60 minutes with a completely delayed response, but as you can see from the graph in Figure 1, it seems its normal for the TSH to rise after 20 minutes, but just to keep rising.
You're following the trend of the line with the triangles (hypothalamic hypothyroidism) so it does look like a problem with the hypothalamus (tertiary hypothyroidism).
This is different to mine, as I have secondary, blunted response at 20 mins and a lower result at 60 mins.
Hope this helps!
