I had my latest apt with my endo on 31st March and have been too busy to post since then. I had bloods drawn the week before my appt and my T4 was 8.6 and T3 4.0. He asked how I was feeling and if there had been any improvement from my last appt. I told him I was still having the brain fog and still sleeping far more than I would like, plus I still have so little energy. I asked him to raise the T3and he agreed to this straight away. I am now taking 30 ug T3 and 100 ug Levo. I am now about to raise the T3to 40ug and cut the Levo to 75ug and see if that helps more. Since taking 30ug T3 I have noticed I am not feeling so tired although the energy levels haven't really improved. I have noticed, however, that since December I have lost over one and a half stones in weight without changing my diet. I really think the change in meds has don this for me. It is most noticeable this week when I got out my summer clothes and most of them are rather loose, yay.
After supplementing B12 for just over a year, starting at 50,000 units and lowering to 5000 units I have raised my levels from 237 to 414 and my gp says they are now very good!!! We had a few words about this and I pointed out that since the lower range is 500 up to 1000 and I should be in the higher region 414 is neither very good nor even within range. He assured me there is no chance of getting injections so it appears I will have to carry on supplementing myself. I firmly believe I will feel better once this is sorted out.
As things are right now I know I am on the right path and will carry on with the help of my lovely endo, even if he cannot prescribe exactly what I want.
I saw the orthopaedics consultant who agrees I need a knee replacement (he says I will also need the other one doing sooner rather than later!), however he also says I must get down to 15 stone before they will consider an operation. Oh well, Only another three and a half stones to go.
