I'm assuming you have had or intend to have a full thyroid panel. There are online sites all over the place of doctors who have broken with the American College of endocrinologists to supply T4/T3 (are you looking for only one? ) If you go to a naturopath, that person will support you with excellent otc brands, but NT is stronger (and I like it). If you are in NYC or LI, I know someone in Westchester NY (message me). But to be sure, he won't prescribe without the blood tests and he'll look at other factors in the blood tests. You could also look at the list of physicians in the Academy of Integrative Health and call someone, and ask. Last but not least you could seek out someone in functional medicine. I didn't do that because I don't want testosterone or anything else (and I don't know their philosophy). Re insurance, my experience is that the docs don't take it, but some will file for you. Mine does.  And in my case, the follow up is so reasonably priced. I go to NY once a year, and have consultations when I need them (hardly).  I have written recently that I don't know where to get NT locally--certainly not from an endocrinologist (my doc is gyn who moved into integrative health). I leave that problem for the future. But if I have to take a Greyhound bus to a doc, I will do it rather than to fight with the local docs, who will not help me.

Hi, tuc9592101. I just left a message and mentioned my doc in NY as a possibility, and that he is gyn. Here's an addendum: he works with men.  All the women who go to him started sending in their male partners!
