Hi, my name is Janice and I have recently been diagnosed with underactive thyroid problems and have been put on tablets for it, so I am so glad to have found this website, nice to meet you all.

I'm a newbie too and trying to get my head round it all! I was shocked to be told I had an under active thyroid, thought it may have been early menopause!

Hi, Andrea, you are blessed to have been told you have an underactive thyroid.   So many are told it is early menopause when in fact they have an underactive thyroid!

Funny you should mention this...i am waiting to see if this is the excuse they are going to give me...when clearly its a thyroid problem
