Anti-depressants, Levothyroxine and NDT

Has anyone on this forum been on Anti depressants (Venloflaxine 225mg) and while on them changed from Levothyroxine (100mg)  to NDT ? I thought I would check before I order some and try to get off these darn Anti d's. and start to try and feel "normal" after 3 years of total hell.

I think more detail would be a good idea. I expect many people have been in that situation, but if you want advice, they would need to know more. Like : how long have you been on that dose? do you have any blood test results to share with us? Have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested? The more detail, the more people are able to help you.

You can take anti-depressants with Levothyroxine or NDT (at least 2 hours away from each other).  It would be better to see how/whether your thyroid symptoms improve after several months on NDT before you start reducing Venlafaxine which should be weaned off very gradually.

I was able to stop taking 200mg Sertraline after I raised my FT3 from below range by adding T3 to Levothyroxine.

Thank you Clutter,

I was on Setraline before the Venloflaxine - All my Blood tests are in range but I will post them tonight when I get home.  I think I will take the advise and go on the NDT - and then reduce the Anti's D's gradually . may Blood test is only a couple of months old I think.

Anti -depressants will negate your thyroxine.
