Hello everyone I am new to Helath Unlocked.

I have osteoporosis and a hyperactive thyroid. I have heard that the conditions may be linked. Does anyone know if this is the case or not/

Welcome to the forum, Osteoporoticlucy.

Yes there is a more rapid turnover of bone in hyperthyroid patients which can cause osteoporosis.  When your hyperthyroidism is regulated bone turnover will normalise and osteoporotic levels may improve.   My sister's osteopenia improved with Alendronic Acid she was prescribed when she had Graves hyperthyroidism.
