Hi Poppy. How are you doing? Have you recovered from your bad reaction to milk kefir? I agree with you about our furry friends; they make such a difference to life 😻.

Hello, well it's taken near on a month to return to normal whatever normal is.. but I am still not quite right, thank you for asking.😃

Hopefully as the weather improves, we shall all feel better in general, as this cold damp weather is very testing.

What a good friend! Poppy reminds me of my Katie, sadly long gone, in temperament & looks.

I like cats more than dogs but not in my garden. Funny how other folks cats crap in my garden and not their own ,presume craftier than dogs.

But all cat owners ,please keep your cat under control in the forthcoming bird breeding season. I believe in some countries cats have to be kept indoors whilst birds are breeding. Our songbirds are disappearing and need help.

Treepie, It seems unfair to punish cats for the demise of our bird population. Cats out catching birds are doing what comes naturally and since time began, so to speak. It is we humans who have severely damaged our environment, and in doing so, caused huge problems with, not just birds, but bees, butterflies and any number of insects, animals, plants etc.

I agree we humans are the main problem with agricultural changes, pesticides and herbicides . But only the Scottish wild cat is natural and many of them are hybrids.Yes, cats do what is natural to them ,they kill but not to eat as they are well fed by their owners and not on scraps as was the case 60 plus years ago. They wipe out many of our small mammals as well .I used to regularly find dead shrews in the yard but no longer . The shrews have been decimated. The unnatural aspect is the keeping of millions of cats as pets by humans.

Unnatural in terms of Nature that is . As I said I prefer cats to dogs I like their independence .

My cat must be unusual then, because she does eat what she kills, despite being very well fed by her owners. I know this because I've watched her (in horror, but accepting that it is instinctive in her to do so) :)

My cats do it in our own garden, my husband has trained them to use a large pot of their very own. This occurred after we noticed one of them using an empty pot, so he filled it with earth and it was welcomed.

I have one just the same coloring and a very loving nature also called ‘Poppy . My son sent her to me from Dubai.

No, how amazing! My Poppy is a rescue and when she first arrived she was a quaking jelly ever time she heard or saw a plastic bag. We think she was terrorised by the children from the family she originally came from... But now she is fine. We live her dearly.

Lucky you to have such a darling too!

My Poppy is a rescue too and I think she was also terrorised by children. She’s still not keen on them. In Dubai the animals are disposable. They like them when they are small then chuck them out when they grow up. My son has two British Blue rescue cats that were thrown out. These rescue animals are very insecure and so grateful for a good home. That’s why they are so loving. My Poppy sticks to me like glue. She even comes on holiday with us and she’s a brilliant traveler.

How superb! I am impressed that she goes on holiday with you!

People can be so cruel. It never ceases to astound me.

Enjoy your evening.
