Thyroid Fna: Hi I have been diagnosed with hypo... - Thyroid UK
Thyroid Fna
I had exactly the same. The FNA really hurt me at the time and I couldn't talk for quite a few days. It did get better though so perhaps it's a bit soon. Give it a few more days and if it's not improved, go to your GP.
Ranidipak, my neck was bruised and very tender for a few days but my throat wasn't sore and my voice was no more hoarse than it had been prior to FNA. It's not surprising you are uncomfortable after a needle is stabbed and prodded around your thyroid. Take paracetamol or ibuprofen for the pain and drink plenty of fluids to hydrate your throat.
My voice became very croaky almost to point of losing it for while (cant remember now but might hve been about 10days) after one of my FNAs. I had a lot of pain and pressure after the procedure that time too. I was later told by endo that I had prob had a small bleed. If yr worried go back and see yr gp/endo.
I don't want to worry people as my other FNAs were fine although I actually felt worse that one time than after my later thyroidectomy op!
Hi my voice is beyond recognition and now its ten days or more, my neck is swollen my throat is sore with burning sensation and dull ache to my left ear. I also don't won't to worry anyone but i actually feel worse after my FNA and my voice was already getting hoarse before that but now i hardly have a voice left. I went to see someone in HK yesterday and he tried to stick a camera through my nose n it was horrible but because of the acute pain i had to stop him. he wanted to check my vocal cords and when i stop him he went all rude and cranky on me and told me he can't help me anymore!! I can't seem to find the right doctor here who actually knows what they are doing. If anyone knows of a good friendly place in Central London please let me know
