Ordinary members of the public in the EU can't buy it any more, as far as I know. The only thing available is something called "borax substitute".

It can be bought from Amazon in the US, but what would happen if you tried to import it, I wouldn't have a clue.

I bought a pure form on e-bay called Loudwolf Sodium Borate Decahydrate, 99.9% pure/regeant grade, but am too chicken to mix with water and actually consume it, its supposed to be a mineral and as safe as table salt.

I bought it in pill form, to take with my vit d3, magnesium and zinc, because I know they all work together. But, to be honest, I didn't notice any difference, either good or bad.

The reason borax has been banned or restricted in the EU is because it causes birth defects. I would be worried about swallowing the stuff. If it can harm a foetus then as far as I'm concerned it probably isn't that good for me either, even though I'm way past child-bearing age.

I'm a bit annoyed it can't be bought for cleaning purposes though. Never tried it myself but I know it was very popular so would have been happy to give it a try.

Well, if I got pregnant, it would be a triple miracle, and I'd probably make a fortune as a circus freak! lol

But, all joking aside, I wasn't taking the cleaning product, but Chelated Boron capsules - boron is the nutritional form of Borax - or Borax is the... whatever. Sorry, I wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote that, and perhaps should have been clearer in distinguishing between the two. I only take things that are in capsule/tablet form for human consumption. And, as I said, boron works with vit D3, magnesium and zinc.

Once again, my apologies for being confusing. My train of thought was running along its own private little track! :/

Thank You Goosy , you're a li'l like the goose my grandfather had , it would come to greet me and we'd play for a minute . Then , all of a sudden , it seemed to remember that I'm a kid and it's a goose and raise its head , honk , spread its wings and begin slapping me . When my granddad came to see what I'd done to his goose , the dipsy doodle thing'd honk and waddle away as if nothing had happened .

When your train reaches the station I'm waiting on , please reply again !

Well, not much to add. Boron is a nutritional supplement, works with vit D3, magnesium and zinc in the body, I took it but it didn't seem to do anything at all.

Apart from that, I can only say : have a look here :

But I doubt if you'll find anyone in the UK that has actually taken Borax.

Loved the story of your grandfather's goose! My photo is from a photo taken by my daughter of Canada Geese on a river in France. These Canadians get everywhere! lol :)

I have bought something on e-bay called Loudwolf Sodium Borate Decahydrate, 99.9% pure/reagent grade, on the label it states "Industrial & Scientific" it even has the compound recipe which is Na2B4O710H20, I have not had the courage yet to mix with water and actually digest it, but supposedly it is only as strong as table salt. anyone try this pure form yet? thank you
