Hi

I’ve been given a low dose of eostrogen only hrt. Can this interfere with my Thyroid as I’ve started to feel fatigued again.

Hi Maggiv,

If you are on HRT, you will need an increased dose of your levo as estrogen decreases its absorption. Please see your MD for the dose adjustment.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you.

It can. The Levo and HRT need to be taken away from one another as well, to try and reduce any interference with a absorption.

Yes I take hrt at night and Levo in the morning.

It does. I had to reduce my dose of NDT as I came off HRT because i developed hyper symptoms.

Yes it may do I’ve struggled over the past few years . My Gp lowered my dose of hrt and changed me to patches and also lowered my dose of thyroxine at the same time !

The last 18 months has been a struggle.2 drs later and higher than normal blood results I requested a consultation re my blood results which incidentally had been labelled no action required has resulted in a higher dose of levo . Finally I can walk the dog again with out being exhausted and I don’t feel as down as I did either .

One Gp even suggested my symptoms suggested depression and would I like counselling and medication for goodness no wonder the nhs is in the state it’s in !

Please research this as much as possible. There are many of us who are trying to balance our hormones naturally from the damage that synthetic contraceptive pulls and hrt causes. Sadly doctors only know about synthetic drugs.

I can message you more info if you would like.

The endocrine system is closely linked to our hormones, we really don’t need drugs to interfere with our body’s natural balance.

Would you be able to send me the information please?

I started on HRT and it's sent my thyroid into overdrive. Would really appreciate any information

The Endocrine System is a group of organs that make hormones. They communicate with one another (hence the term “system”). For all women the 3 hormones that need to balance are Estrogen(s), Thyroid and Adrenal (cortisol). These will account for virtually all your complaints. HRT usually implies estrogen. They do cause cancer and heart disease. That’s a fact. Look it up. They also BLOCK the other hormones (notably estrogens make you FAT). Consider taking a “natural desiccated thyroid” and maybe cortisol if blood pressure is persistently Low. Seek out doctors who are more experienced in these areas. If it smells wrong..,it probably is.

P.S.- take some iodine! There’s none to speak of in your diet!

It certainly can - I'd also ask why no progesterone and testosterone. Your hormones need to be balanced and more women have too much oestrogen relative to progesterone than the other way round.

Yes it can interfere; I had much beter results with balanced oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone compounded creams. While the levo+T3 doses had to go up slightly, it was worth it to be in balance overall.

This review suggests that if progesterone is necessary, micronized progesterone is better. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/100...

Hi. I've been put on 75 hrt I'm hypothyroidic. I asked my gp if it interferes with the obsorbsion of the thyroxine and she said no. Thing is even though the hit flashes have stopped I'm physically exhausted. I'm falling asleep at 3 to 4 in the afternoon then going to bed at 7pm.

I've had a hysterectomy so only on the estrogen patches

Is she wrong?
