Wot tests to ask for

Hi all am going to doctors today my lst non fasting tsh result was 4:34 can anyone plz tell me wot tests to ask for i'am willing to pay private but wot ones to ask for?? Thx all😀

Hi Bianca

Some doctors will prescribe levo along with clinical symptoms. Some stick rigidly to the TSH must be 10 before prescribing.

If he's not willing ask if you can have a three-months trial due to your clinical symptoms and tick them off.

Most doctors, I believe, wont know any clinical symptoms.

Ask for a Free T4 and a Free T3 blood test - if he wont agree (after all they've been told that the TSH is best) you might have to get a private one and we have recommended labs which give a small discount.

Also ask For Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate to be done as well.

When you have a blood test for thyroid hormones it must be the earliest possible and fast (you can drink water) and if on thyroid hormones leave about 24 hours between the last dose and the test.

Always get a print-out with the ranges (the figures are in brackets) for your own records and you can post if you have a query.
