Best to post the ref ranges otherwise it's hard to comment but i can almost certainly say you are badly undermedicated. Don't know how you are functioning with that kind of tsh

Hello traceyblip

Welcome to our forum and sorry to hear that you don't feel well.

Levothyroxine takes up to 6 weeks to initially saturate the body which will only tolerate small increases at any one time.

You are still very under medicated so would expect your doctor to raise Levothyroxine dose to 75 or 100mcg. The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status and for most people that means TSH just above or below 1.0 and T4 in the upper third of range. Symptoms can lag behind good biochemistry by 6-8 weeks.

Your doctor should retest 6 weeks after any dose change and adjust the dose according to results. Leave 24 hours between last dose and blood draw and try to have the blood drawn early in the morning when TSH is highest whilst fasting (water only)..

It is important to take your pill on an empty stomach with a glass of water, 1 hour before food, 2 hours before supplements and 4 hours before calcium, iron or Vit D supplements.

People with thyroid issues often have vitamin deficiencies so ask your doctor to test Vit B12, Vit D, folate and ferritin as optimum levels are required to ensure thyroid meds are utilised.

Post results for members to comment. There are always ranges (numbers in brackets) in a test result which should also be given as labs vary and this will enable members to give a better answer.

TSH stands for Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and is made in the pituitary gland to tell your thyroid how much T4 (thyroxine) to secrete.. Your new meds are synethic T4 branded as Levothyroxine.

I hope you feel better soon

Well you need testing about 6 weeks after the dose increase and if the tsh is more than 1 and your free t4 isnt at the top end of the range then you need more medication.

Docs tend to be a bit mean with the levothyroxine, but a reasonable dose is probably nearer 200 than 100.

Dont take your meds for 24 hours before a blood test, dont eat before, only water and have the test as early as possible.
