Yes, if you are undermedicated. Until you get the right dose you will have symptoms. I was ill on levo no matter what dose - NDT works for me

traceyblip,

You might find my list of abbreviations and acronyms of some help:

dropbox.com/s/og3lmxa1dqadb...

NDT = "natural" desiccated thyroid = dried, powdered pig thyroid formed into tablets.

Posters have frequently been asked to avoid causing confusion by posting unexplained acronyms and abbreviations.

Yes! I have been on a starting dose of 50 mcg Levo since middle of December when I was first diagnosed. I actually got worse before I started to improve. But I am still wiped out and obviously am on too low a dose. It can take weeks for the Levo to take full effect which is why I was told I couldn't have repeat bloods for 7 weeks. These have now been done and I see my GP next week.

It took me abyear to get to just about ok evn after being on 125mcg for most of the time. Whilst you should soon see some improvement it is a long haul.

I've had an under active thyroid since I was about 15/16. Am now 28 & currently on 200 mg of levothyroxine and am still tired all the time. It's ridiculous, every time they docs increased my dosage he said I should feel a difference but I never have.
