I'm looking for an Endo. Who is willing to prescribe NDT. T3 etc who is sympathetic to addressing one's symptoms such as hot flushes.

MadVicky, email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endos. You should check with the endo whether s/he prescribes NDT prior to booking.
Hi Vicky,
I've found sympathetic endo to be a contradiction in terms!
Maybe ask your GP for a bioidentical HRT, if that's appropriate for your age, etc. I had dreadful hot flushes all day & night for 6 years. Now I just get a bit warm in the evening, after taking the HRT that my friend's gynae sister recommends. Don't let them fob you off with the stuff made from horse urine, which could make you even more mad.

Hi I finally went to the GP & asked for bio identical HRT but she didn't know what this is. I therefore requested angelique but the pharmacist can't get hold of it. Instead the GP prescribed Elleste Duet, which is supposed to be similar. However when I read the side effects, amongst the common ones is weight gain. can you or anyone else recommend one which less likely to put weight on?
Thanks for your advice.
Also I was wandering would HRT patches be less likely to put on weight?
