Hi all, just found site and it makes interesting reading! Lots of shared histories regarding blood tests and dosages for people. I think I just put a post in reply to one of the strings started about 3 hours ago. Probably should have put it in here! Never mind, I'm sure some of you folks will find it!

Question ......does anyone else get a gland enlarging just under their chin when they think that are having a flare up of hashimotos or autoimmune thyroiditis?

Thanks

Welcome to our forum rain-storm1. Do you think you may have a problem with your thyroid gland, or have you been diagnosed.

I'm not able to answer your question but someone will come along who will have had the experience.

Hi there! Yes I do have diagnosis of hashimotos. I've just had dosage increased to 100 yesterday due to flare up. As I said I got a bit confused so managed to put all my history into a post from Clare 81 who posed a question a few hours back about an increase to 100mg. (That's in the title of question) My point was that my results over the years have often been in the lower end of normal ranges and I've had to argue a lot to get treatment - even with the endocrinologist who diagnosed me and said that my numbers weren't bad enough to treat despite my clinical presentation! I was curious if anyone s else got a swollen gland in neck when feeling lousy with Washington?

That should say hashimotos not Washington... don't you love auto correct?!

Thanks for your response and hope someone replies soon. If you copy and paste a bit of your above history into your Profile, it saves asking you repeat questions.

Welcome to the forum, Rain_storm1.

A Hashi flare can cause lymphocytes to infiltrate the thyroid gland which may become enlarged and swollen.

There's no cure for Hashimoto's but adopting 100% gluten-free diet can help reduce flares, symptoms and antibodies.
