Eek! I would call the hospital as soon as possible. That is never a good sign but if you catch it now it will be much more likely you get better. Make it clear to the hospital that you don't know why it is happening. Best of luck and do keep us informed if you can.

Please go and call a hospital right now.

If you are in the UK you should go to your GP rather than a hospital. They will know your case history and have a wider view.

I'm not so sure - in my experience it is better to skip the queue! If it is a serious urgent situation such as this, one has every right to go to hospital at once, as that is where you'll be sent anyways ;)

Not to step on your advice, I just feel that after a month this is definitely an emergency.

Hi do you smoke I know some people with copd cough blood . You would be wise to seek medical advice either hospital or GP first thing in the morning . Good luck getting sorted 😊

Yes, that's one good reason for an endoscopy also!

I totally agree with all the above comments but as a side note I kept coughing up blood a couple of years ago and eventually discovered it was my gums bleeding in the night trickling into my throat and mouth. Since sorting this out the bleeding has stopped. At first I did not realise and thought it must be from my lungs but an x-ray showed nothing.

Or, it could be from your nasal passages. You may have slight nose bleeds during the night.

Yontonny, Definitely see a doctor, you may need to have a an Endoscopy to find the cause, which probably lies some where between your oesophagus and gut. The "Cause" of it is the important thing here. Don't start self medicating either, you could make things worse not better. You may even be taking something something now, prescribed or OTC! Do you have medical conditions? Your own doctor may even know why it's happening - so go and see your GP a sap!

Not what you're looking for?
