Thyroid levels

Just for my own comparison purposes...What would be considered "normal" test results for Tsh,T4,T3 and the frees, of a person who had RAI because of Graves Disease? I can fid ranges for those who have a healthy thyroid, but i'm thinking I may not be able to use those.

Hypoplexed, TSH, FT4 and FT3 ranges are 'normal' for healthy and thyroidless patents but the ranges are broad and what was/is euthyroid for you won't necessarily be euthyroid for others, and vice versa. Most people on Levothyroxine will feel well with TSH just above or below 1.0, FT4 in the upper quadrant of range, and FT3 in the upper third. Some, including previously hyperthyroid patients, may need TSH suppressed <0.1 and FT4 and FT3 at the top of range to feel well. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

I have no thyroid and TSH is suppressed 0.01 to avoid cancer recurrence. I feel well with FT4 >14 (9-19) and FT3 >4.5 (3.2-6.2) and didn't feel better or worse when they were higher in range.

I just switched to NDT about a month and a half ago. Feeling so much better than when I was on Synthroid .125 only. I was in so much pain for so many years, hair almost all gone on my head, arms and eyelashes, extremely dry cracking skin with the texture of an orange peel, chronic fatigue, numbness and tingling pain in hands and feet, dizzy and weak, down for 3 days after any phyisical activity, heart palps, severe sensitivity to hot and cold that put me in tears, and I would swing from being hot to freezing cold in a matter of seconds. My temp still varies between 94.6 thru 99.8. (Not sure if it will clear up as I raise NDT or not). The last test results I got a few mths ago were TSH 0.682 u(iu)/ml, T4 1.10 ng/dl, and T3 3.24pg/ml. ( My doc didn't do the free T3 test as I requested though). I'm still not understanding how to read test results as to what is normal and what isn't. I just knew I felt like I was dieing, so I took drastic measures to self medicate. I'm planning on going back to have these test done again, a couple of weeks after my next NDT dose increase, so was just wanting to try to find a good reference range to kind of go by, since my doc can't even figure it out himself, and at least get me to a point that I feel i'm among the living.

Sorry...I meant that my doc didn not run the Reverse T3 test that I requested also.

Hypoplexed, when you are optimally medicated on NDT TSH will usually be low <1.0, FT4 may be low to mid range with FT3 in the top third of range.

Have your next thyroid test early in the morning and fast, as TSH is highest then, and take NDT after the blood draw. Post your results and ranges (figures in brackets after results) and members will interpret the results and advise.

Ok, thank you. I don't think I'm optimal yet. I'm just now one 2 grains of NDT, and about to raise a half grain soon. I was on .125 of synthroid, so I'm not sure how 2 or 2 1/2 grains compares to that, or how it effects my numbers yet. I have always had both hyper and hypo symptoms, ever before RAI. It's all so confusing, but hoping for more success thru everyone else's knowledge and experiences, along with my own research.

The test results I had done back in October 2015 were TSH 0.682 u(iu)/ml, FT4 1.10 ng/dl, and FT3 3.24pg/ml. The recent test that were done 2 days ago are TSH 0.011 u(iU)/mL (range 0.350-4.940), FT4 0.99 ng/dL (range 0.171-1.85), FT3 3.57 pg/mL (range 1.45-3.48), (range 0.350-4.940) It seems the levels haven't changed much. I was on synthroid when the Oct. tests were done, and I have been on ndt since November and i'm up to 3 grains per day at present. However, my gp seems concerned about the new results, called me in today to have blood drawn for thyroglobulin and TPO, I believe. I'm not sure what this is a test for, since I haven't spoken to her directly yet. She has told me that she doesn't agree with my switch to ndt, so now i'm wondering if she may think, and try to convince me, that i'm going either hypo or hyper now. Does anyone else see that I have a severe problem with my results, or have an idea why she ordered the thyroglobulin test after seeing my recent levels?
