Hi, Can anyone tell me if a TSH level of 0.68 is normal please. I am told by GP this is normal but I feel rotten, I have all the symptoms of Hypothyroidism, however, I have Pernicious Anaemia and these are the same symptoms. Everything is being put down to the PA and chronic fatigue. Very confusing!
Normal Thyroid level?: Hi, Can anyone tell me if... - Thyroid UK
Normal Thyroid level?
What is the tsh reference range? So we can see where in the range you are?
I would hazard a guess the nhs is rationing you to 1 shot every 3 months for your PA? I find i need a shot every 3 to 4 weeks so self inject and it really helps. If you could access some amps and learn to self inject i am almost certain you will feel alot better. You can get it on private GP prescription and it is about £10 for 5 amps. Contrary to what the nhs will tell you, you can inject it sub cue with diabetic needles. It is surprisingly easy.
Hello Bluedaffodil. Thanks for your reply. The TSH range is 0.3-4.5. After years of fighting and proving my requirement for additional B12 injections, I now inject at home normally every week-fortnight, which has improved many of the symptoms like palpataions, ectopic heartbeat, hair loss, but I continue to have incredable chronic fatigue, pains in body, numbness, headaches, pins & needles and buring in hands & feet. I do see an Occupational therapist and Physio to help the chronic fatigue and with the weakness I have but wondered if there was something else causing it. If only a B12 shot would just fix it like I was led to believe when first diagnosed. Maybe it is all down to PA
HI The blood test is not reliable for Zinc as a urine test better. If having a lot of infections or skin problems worth taking Zinc as completely safe.

Thanks Jackie, I do take a lot of vitamins but Zinc is not one of them, I will give that a go.
Hi The minerals are far more important than vitamins. make sure you have a good multi vit and mineral supplement.

Deeb, it's not about the TSH, you need your FT4 and FT3 tested. The TSH could be perfect but the FT3 abismally low. The TSH has no effect on how you feel, but a low FT3 could make you feel terrible! Doctors who dose by the TSH are ignorant, you should be dosed by the FT3 and your symptoms. Change your doctor?
Thank you Greygoose, My doctor laughed at me when I asked for these tests said they only do them if the TSH is abnormal, I tried to explain it's not reliable as I asked for my daughter to be tested too but no luck, I felt stupid. I think i will go down the blue horizon route for tests although i'm not sure what to do if the tests were to prove a thyroid issue
