New to all this thyroid madness, but shocked at how ill you can be but given no help by endocrinnologist consultant who refused to treat with anti thyroid Meds despite being ill for 3 years. Put on propranolol and told to come back in 6 weeks. Is this the level of support I can expect with this condition?
Sub clinical hyperthyroidism but only treated w... - Thyroid UK
Sub clinical hyperthyroidism but only treated with 40mg Propranolol X 3 per day, but still feel ill.
If you can post your test results along with their lab ranges people will be able to comment. Were you tested for antibodies too?
Ideally you want to have ferritin, folates, B12 and vitamin D checked out - you want all of them to be well up in their ranges.
I'm afraid I don't know anything about sub-clinical hyperthyroidism but I'm sure there must be someone out there who does.
Susiebertie, Propranolol is often prescribed for mild hyperthyroidism as it lowers thyroid hormone as well as slowing fast heart rate and reducing anxiety caused by hyperthyroidism. If thyroid levels aren't reduced on Propranolol your endo may decide to prescribe anti-thyroid drugs at your review.

Thank you for the advice, I now realise that I need to gain copies of all my test results. I am already on vitamin D 400 unit capsules at a dose of 2 tablets once per day. I was on folic acid 5mg but once level raised they took me off. I will re-post have got a print out of my results.
