I have loads of this growing in my garden, but I haven't dared try it yet. Anybody else?

Hi Greygoose,

I first heard of this two years ago when trying to find something to help ease the awful symptoms of oral lichen planus. I never did manage to source it though and concentrated on raising my low Vitamin D levels. I still have OLP but it is 50% better than when it first appeared. I had the skin version initially that was treated as psoriasis but now I know it was LP, that cleared up after two years overnight. Am using turmeric now with some success.

That's interesting, Lucy. I wonder what else it could be good for... I shall have to try it!

Hi Lucy. Can I ask are you using turmeric for lp? Mine was treated as psoriasis for maybe 15 years (it also disappeared for part of that time) and when I got a dramatic new symptom (vulval fissure) it took an additional year (dozens of observers, yay) to be diagnosed as lp.

Hi Puncturedbicycle,

Yes I still use turmeric powder, a half teaspoon usually on a spoonful of yoghurt! It has not gone but is certainly a lot better than it was originally. Dentist keeps telling me I have very dry or atrophic lining in my mouth. I really sympathise with the down below area as I know how sore it can be. I also think a low Vitamin D triggered it and being stressed does not help.

Grown it for years (since the 70s) and eaten in salad, I'm pretty sure you can get the seeds in B&Q (Suttons).

I don't need to sew it! It covers what is supposed to be a red brick court yard. Been trying to get rid of it for years! lol

Not sure you'll find any this time of year, dolphin. Better wait til spring. :)

Great article: I've asked my wild-foraging daughter if she has tried it, will let you know if she says yes.
