Hello lebogwe,
Welcome to our forum and sorry to hear that you are not feeling well.
It is important to take your thyroid meds as they will reduce the excess amount of thyroid hormone being made and will help to make you feel better. Unfortunately sickness and stomach upset can be a side effect of taking Neo-Mercazole.
I am hypothyroid so have no experience of antithyroid medicines but would assume your weight gain is due to reduced thyroid hormone meaning a slowing in
your metabolism.
Hyperthyroidism is a relapsing-remitting illness so may get better or worse and as we are all different nobody will know how long you will need to take the meds for.
Hopefully the sickness won't return and maybe you could discuss weight gain with your doctor incase a med dose adjustment is required.
I hope you find your answers soon and feel better.
