Hi everyone i finally got my results and there are no big signs of cancer although the doctor is still worried about the irregular borders of the nodules so they could still have cancer cells but they would be contained
However both nodules are large and one is already down to my collarbone so my thyroid has to be totally removed before the op gets too complicated if it goes below my collarbone
I have already received my follow up appointment post surgery for january next year but i have heard nothing from the surgeon i was referred back to so i am doubtful that my op will be done by january
But on a happier note the day after i got my results i became a auntie for the first time i now have a nephew called Freddie and he is now nearly 6 weeks old bless him! x

Cloudwalker, congratulations on becoming an auntie
I'm sorry you have to have TT but nodules like that are best out. The nodules will be biopsied post-op and the larger samples analysed will mean you will get a conclusive benign or malign result. You may be on the surgeon's wait list so it is possible you will have surgery prior to January. While you're waiting ask your GP to test vitamin D. 40% of thyroidectomised patients are vitamin D deficient and recovery is better with good levels.
