I have had my bloods a few months ago and the endo I saw still wouldn't treat me even though my T4 is abnormal. She also didn't listen to me as I have a lot of symptoms that are textbook hypo.
My blood results -
Serum free t4 - 10.8
Serum free triiodothyronine level - 5.2
Serum TSH level - 4.01
I haven't had my antibodies tested for a while but they're normally around the 60 mark.
I felt so upset and disheartened that she wouldn't treat me and honestly I can't believe that I'm having the fight this hard when I feel so awful sometimes.
I'm listing all the 'problems' I have, I am aware that some of them might not be hypo related.
I have a goitre, which is my biggest symptom
Put on weight suddenly at around the same time that I got the goitre
Not going under a size 16 even with rigorous training in Martial Arts
Psoriasis on my scalp that won't go away with treatment
Tingling in my feet and fingers (and yes I take multivitamins)
Hoarse voice
The top of my neck feels sore sometimes
Depression and Anxiety - sometimes even when I'm happy I'll cry for no reason
Tendinitis in my knee
IBS
Get insomnia sometimes and when I'm tired I crash suddenly
Thrush
Enlarged tonsils and a sore throat
Low blood pressure
Mother has hypo
I think that's everything. A friend's mother is a doctor and has a research interest in the thyroid and I told her about my bloods and she wrote a big email saying that if she were my doctor, she would give me thyroid medication and explained why.
I'm having to go to a new doctor I've never been to before but apparently he's really good and listens to his patients. I was going to tell him all of my symptoms and give him the email from my friend's mother but I'm really worried that because of that awful endo, he may have to do what she says.
How should I act during the appointment? What should I do if he doesn't give me medication? What's the next thing I can do?
Thank you. I'm desperate. Just so you know, I live in Brighton, if you know of anyone here or nearby who could help me!
