If adrenal fatigue is diagnosed does t4 need to be cleared before t3 an if no adrenal issues do you need to clear it first before taking t3 thanks for any info πŸ‘

Justbee, I'm not aware that adrenal fatigue means T4 needs clearing.

A build up of T4 or rT3 may stop T3 being taken up and working. It can be cleared by taking T3 only for 3 or 4 months and then T4+T3 combination should be successful.

Justbee, you'd need to order a FT3 and rT3 test from Genova or BlueHorizon.

I suspected I had a build up of T4 and stopped taking T4 for 10 weeks. It hadn't cleared so I stopped T3 too and symptoms began clearing in the 2nd week off meds and resolved during the 3rd week. I was profoundly hypothyroid then and it took 8 weeks to get TSH suppressed again on T4+T3 and the start of recovery.
