I have had my latest blood tests and they have come to my Doctor (I am still at the stage of trying to get the correct dosage of Levothyroxine). My Doctor has now asked to see me and cannot see me until next week. I asked the receptionist if I could go and collect a copy and she advised me that the instruction was for Doctor to see me first, which she believes that this means that I am not allowed to see these until she has seen me. Has anyone else had this, and do you know why this could be the case? I am freaking out now....

Rosyposy, no need to freak out, your thyroid levels may be a little off and your GP wants to discuss a dose adjustment. Contact the receptionist again and say you would like to have a copy of your results prior to your GP appointment. Ask to speak with the practice manager if the receptionist refuses.
That's a great idea. Thank you. I have a lot of health problems at the moment, the Thyroid being a relatively new experience for me (I was diagnosed only 3-4 months ago) and I have never had problems getting my previous test results back. So this a new one for me and I just can't understand why they would say that she needs to see me first.
OK, thank you. This has made me a little less panicky
Same thing happened to me, not being allowed my blood results before seeing my Doctor. I like to take time to study my blood results at home, something you cannot do in a Doctor's surgery, I wouldn't be able to take it all in, in just a quick glance.
Also good to see your bloods beforehand as you might want to ask further questions about your blood, levels, so would then have to make another appointment to ask more questions, though perhaps that is the opposite of what Doctors want.
It feels like they don't want patients to have power over them, I thought nowadays it was meant to be an equal partnership with Doctor and patient, working together. ?
