Hi there,

I am new to this forum but have read a few posts and well it sounds like a constant learning curve for me personally and others here. The reason I am posting is I wanted to see an endocrinologist who specialises in re-current miscarriages and hypothyroidism, do any of you know of one who practises in London?

I have been looking at the GP list supplied by Thyroid UK and I have a appt scheduled with Dr.Peatfield Spet 7th but he's so far away it would be so much easier to see someone in London.

Would appreciate any recommendations and advice.

Welcome to the forum, Moorthya.

Conception can be difficult and miscarriage common in women with TSH >2.5. NICE recommend the TSH of women planning conception and newly pregnant should be in the low normal range 0.4-2.0 with FT4 in the upper quadrant of range. Levothyroxine is usually increased by 25-50mcg when pregnancy is confirmed to ensure good foetal development and to avoid post-partum thyroiditis.

Thanks for the reply I will take a look at the link. One consultant told me that in I should have TSH <2 as well I have hovered around 3. Well I haven't found an endo but I am seeing Deborah Grant who is looking at the gut as I also have Thyroid antibodies (Hashimoto's) by healing the gut my angle will be to retest the antibody and TSH and free T4/T3 and take it from there….

Moorthya, it may be worth showing the NICE link to your GP and perhaps trial Levothyroxine to lower TSH and see whether it aids conception.
