T4 to T3 conversion issues

I am hopefully going to get my blood test results back tomorrow ahead of my Endo appointment on Wednesday. I say hopefully because they were completely missed off by the labs last time. The nurse has even specifically written what's required.

Are they any particular issues that occur when your body can't convert T4 into T3?

I'm presuming that T3 would have to be at the bottom of the scale and T4 higher to signify an issue? I will post my results when I know them!
