Looking to change from using Levothyroxine to Amour.

Hi All, I am a newbie who is looking to find a private doctor based in london UK who will prescribe me Amour.

I have been on Levothyroxine for many years now and at present my dose is mon, wed, fri 3 days at 100mg and tues, thurs, sat, sun 4 days at 75mg.

I had always been on 100mg until around 2yrs ago when my doctor changed it to 75mg he said my blood result was showing I was going the other way hyper.

Since he changed my dose I have struggled with my weight I eat very healthy and excerise most days cycling to and from work but still I struggle. I am also feeling that the tiredness is becoming very hard to cope with some days plus the added feeling of feeling low.

I would also be interested to hear of any advice or tips from fellow suffers but would like to change my meds to see if that will help me I am willing to try anything right now if I am honest.

It sounds as though you may be undermedicated. Ask for a printout of your last results with the lab ref ranges from your GP receptionist or practice manager and post them in new question for advice.

NDT isn't licensed for UK use so few NHS doctors will prescribe it. Most members using NDT have a private prescription or buy online and self medicate.

Email [e-mail] for a list of member recommended private GPs and endos. You'll need to check with their offices as to whether they prescribe NDT.
