I've been on levothroxine for 22 years after having 3/4 s of my thyroid removed. I was over active but since I've had my thyroid removed I'm under active . I'm on 175 mg a day , I struggle with my weight and because of that I get a little down . I don't sleep well but that's just normal to me . Lol .
Ask your GP receptionist or practice manager for a printout of your last thyroid results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after the results). Post them in a new question and members will advise whether you are optimally medicated. Undermedication can make it very difficult/impossible to lose weight.
Supplementing 375mcg magnesium (not oxide), magnesium oil spray and epsom salt baths before bed can help promote good sleep.
Ok I will ask . I used to be on 200 mg a day but I was having too much thyroxine so my doc has taken me down to 175 mg I've got to have another blood test soon to check on it .
