Can any one explain these blood results please

TSH 0.58

FT3 4.8

FT4 21.6

I'm tired all of the time, putting on weight and can't loose it, joint issues, carpal tunnel in both hands.

Thank you.

Hi there, welcome. :)

Are you on any medication? Do you take any thyroid replacement hormones?

OK. On the face of it, your thyroid blood test results are looking pretty normal. That's not to say that your thyroid is definitely tickety-boo, as blood tests don't always reflect what's going on. But before pursuing thyroid issues further, it would be a good idea to check out other things. Your mention of carpal tunnel immediately made me wonder about your vitamin B12 levels. Vitamin B12 deficiency mimics hypothyridism quite closely, as does iron deficiency anaemia.

Have you been to a doctor yet, or are you just checking out what to ask for? I think my next step would be to ask to be checked for anaemia and Vitamin B12 deficiency. While you're at it, it's worth asking for Vitamin D to be checked as well.

Hope that helps.

Hi Jazzw

Thanks off your reply 😊

Yes I see my endocrinologist 6 monthly, I was diagnosed with a rare pituitary disease 5 yrs ago and have life long blood checks. I'm waiting for my last results which I should have soon. I asked if he'd do more indepth thyroid blood tests this time, purely for the fact that I'm struggling with my weight and just can't seem to loose any. I'm also coeliac so don't eat gluten. I'm just fed up of this weight gain. I've had 2 hip replacements recently so I know exercise has also been an issue but I'm slowly getting back to walking daily with our dog. I'll see what these blood results are like, I take daily vit D which is prescribed, I'll look into getting others checked that you suggest, I know I get iron levels checked regularly too. Thanks for your advice. 😊
