My thyroid keeps swelling ?
Nataliesue, it could be due to a Hashimoto's attack or due to undermedication. Have you been tested for antibodies and have you had a thyroid test recently?
Hi. Thanks for replying clutter. I think I had my anti bodies done a few months back and they said they were ok ! And I know I should not believe them and i forgot to ask for the results as I always have so many things to tackle when at the doctors, but I will get them. And my last test results were in April TSH 0.02 T4 0.9. T3 5.1 I'm on T3only . And im in the middle of a battle for armour as doc said I could do with being on some t4 but the tablets made me I'll, but I was ok on armour.
Also I have low white blood cell count 3.8 (4-11) and some of the others are low. I had a thyroid peroxidase antibody test 5.9 but I can't find a range for that. But is that the right test for hashi ? I am becoming more intolerant to foods and loosing interest in eating what's left !
Nataliesue, You look to be optimally medicated. T4 is low because you are on T3 only. TPO 5.9 is negative in any range I've seen. Some people do have Hashi's when antibodies are negative though. May be worth trying 100% gluten-free diet if you haven't already.
I couldn't tolerate T4 only but I'm fine on T4+T3 combination. If you feel well on T3 only there's no need to add T4.
I am gluten free also dairy, eggs, yeast, gram flour, strawberries, sweeteners, since the doctors took me off armour(long story) I've noticed my eyesight, fatigue and memory is worse but my hair only now falls out when stressed and not all the time. So prob down to too much t4 .but I think I need a little bit of armour to stop these other probs.
