I'm on T3 only and it's changed my life, but I did a lot of research, read a great book "Recovering with T3" and followed his recommendations re: checking blood pressure, temps etc by the letter - I increased doses very slowly and made sure everything else (B12, folate, ferritin, Vit D, K2, Magnesium etc) were all optimal and went Gluten and dairy free also to make sure the only thing left was the lack of thyroid hormones - sounds a cliché but I have literally got my life back, and I don't have naps anymore and I can concentrate for the whole day - PM me if you want more info and best of luck X

Bossbird, Hashi flares up and down which can make you feel ill and can make it difficult to manage hypo symptoms. Have you tried 100% gluten-free? Many members say it reduces flares and eventually antibodies.

If you post recent thyroid results and ranges we can see whether you are optimally medicated? If FT3 is low adding a little T3 to Levothyroxine (T4) can be beneficial, it's not always necessary to go T3 only.

hi I've tried it all it appears I don't convert t4 hence always being on large doses of meds started t4 - t4/t3 - armour - armour/t3 - thyroid gold -thyroid gold/t3

TSH always 0.02

T4 within range

T3 high

started t3 only just over a week ago the above maybe due to RT3 so maybe t3 only will sort me out eventually, i went 20 years before a dr would listen and help me now 8 years of experiments to get here.

I am gluten free and mostly diary free although get caught out occasionally.

Bossbird, it can take up to 14 weeks to clear a build up of T4, or rT3, on T3 only. Clearance can be sudden and you may feel very hyper if you are taking high dose T3 and may need to reduce dose by half to two-thirds. I was able to recover on T4+T3 after clearing a build up of T4.
