Hi all I'm thinking of paying to see a doctor from the list who treats with t3 and ndt.
I was diagnosed with m.e years ago and finally found this site and the information which makes sense. My thyroid us possiblynot converting or on the receptors blocked department. I'm not hashimotos but had graves diease ten years ago strongly believe so called m.e is adrenal and thryroid. I
would love to hear from you of your experiences with any of the recommended doctors
Thank you_!
Feedback re specific doctors via private messages please in line with posting guideline #25, thank you.
Thanks clutter, yes the list states what they treat with but I will try and get info on what is dobe and also included in the price!
I just thought I'd post and see who has been seen from the list. I can only afford to do this once but hope it may set me on the right track as I'm not sure how to tell whether I should be t3 only.
I have started ndt and am already sleeping better and not feeling totally wiped out which is great .
Thanks v much for the reply clutter... I've just started a low dose of ndt but now I'm a bit confused as some people seem to add on t3 to their ndt. From the info I was reading it was using higher levels of t3 to flood the cells due to tissue resistance.. seems to fit my profile of bloods looking normal for years when I was really sick ..
I sound like I understand, I kind of do but don't! 🐭 it's so strange their are all these doctors and so uneducated as to how to help really sick people. Hence my post as I think I need more guidance as I can't afford a wrong move healtwise ....
Kafe, the proportions of T4 and T3 don't suit everyone and some add either T4 or T3 to fine tune their dose.
You've felt improvement after only a week which may be due to the T3 beginning to work but one week on NDT is not nearly long enough for you to be able to gauge how well it will do when the full impact of the dose is felt in 6 weeks.
How much Levothyroxine were you taking and how much NDT are you taking now?
Hi clutter sorry for the late reply. I'm on a starting dise of quarter grain it will be 2 weeks tomorrow that I started so I'm thinking of raising my dose to half as I've got on well with it.I take it at night as the first few days it made me drowsy! I slept through the night for a week for the first time in a v long time without sedatives. Past few nights waking up around 5 or 6 but get back to sleep. Thinking of taking the next dose then it could take it all together.
I wasn't diagnosed hypothyroidism but knew enough that my symptoms v similar just couldn't find evidence to back up my suspicion, sadly I albeit reluctantly believe d that I had to suffer or pay to go to America which I was considering before finding this site. my brain couldn't function I kept looking in the wrong places then would give up or get v ill. its different to when I last looked up the link between m.e and thyroid hormone as there's more information and suddenly a list of doctors! Sadly I have up in 2011 and had other battles to fight which got me sick and distracted. Seems more information has come out since then ...
Thanks clutter yes taking it slow and steady though v tempting to ttake the bottle as still so tired but think I'm on the right track. Would you think upping the nightime dose or taking it early morning if I wake up. I read somewhere that there's a circadian method but I'm not sure if that's for t3 only. I guess I will experiment!
