Thanks very much Shaw. I had already seen this site that's where I seen it mentioned thyroid and auto immune issues I was looking to share symptoms with anyone else who has been diagnosed. Or get help with the symptoms I have as I'm really struggling at the moment.

Thanks again.

I am sorry you are struggling. In a book on I read the following is a herbal remedy for many things - just for your information.

exhibithealth.com/natural-k...

P.S I bought some Pau d'arco from Holland and Barrett it comes as a capsule and you can break the capsule and add water to make a tea.

Not yet, but it must be next, because I have high markers for inflammatory Bowel disease, and so far Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis have been ruled out. It can only be diagnosed by taking biopsies from the colon and examining them microscopically - hence the name.

I have had periods of months on end with total bowel incontinence and the ONLY thing which seems to control it is codeine, which is not good! At such times I wear Tena Lady Pants because otherwise I cannot go out at all. SO embarrassing though, I was in Asda and had to rush to the loo, was in there ages while a woman (oops nearly called her a LADY!) outside waiting decided to give a running commentary on how long I was taking. When I came out, I made a caustic remark about the kind of people one meets in the Asda loos and how it never happens in Waitrose.....

The good news is that Microscopic Bowel Inflammation is less likely than other forms of bowel inflammation to end up as cancer.

It seems to go hand in hand with other autoimmune problems such as Graves' and Hashis.

I have wondered if it would be beneficial to go gluten free.

Hi Marram I have just had 13 biopsies taken yesterday so waiting on results. I had been gluten free for a few months and it wasn't making much difference consultant wanted me back on gluten to do biopsies. I have been off my work for 3 months now I hate using public toilets so am not out my own house for long. At one time Imodium was stopping it but nothing is now. I just want a label to what I have so as I can get the correct treatment. My stool sample has shown up I have inflammatory bowl diease. (IBD) I have had a nightmare over the past 4 months with NHS finding nothing I have now went private and I find I'm getting somewhere.

Thanks for you reply.

You have my absolute empathy for this horrible illness, hope that it will get sorted for you. Imodium was no use to me whatsoever. I held up any further investigation because open heart surgery was a priority. When I am fully recovered I will see how my tummy progresses and take it further if needed. xx

I was diagnosed a year ago with Lymphocytic Colits, all part of the group of Microscopic Colitis. I've had a couple of flares since then, got them under control with Budesonide. Gastroenterologist wants me to take Pentasa but I'm a bit reluctant at the moment as I already take so many medications. I'm also self injecting Humira once a fortnight, a Biologic drug for my spondyloarthropathy which is also used in colitis so I'm hoping that will help. I've decided though that if I get another flare then I will probably have to give in over this. Incidentally, once I was diagnosed with the colitis, my Rheumatologist was then able to confirm the spondyloarthritis diagnosis because you often get this type of colitis with it. Clemmie

Thanks Barrister I will have to wait and see the results of my biopsies in the meantime I will be staying close to home and keep taking the pain killers for my joint pain. Marram thanks for you comments also.
