Where indeed. Another excellent and thought-provoking post from Dr Kendrick. I think I will forward it to my young nephew, who is a doctor, but who, despite my efforts, still sticks to what he was taught regarding the thyroid. The analogy with religion may make him think.

Maybe ask him if he would consider Functional Medication as a career. He would certainly have a lot of patients who don't get better on the present guidelines.

He is already going down the paediatrics route - a very worthy one but it won't help us, sadly. I will still continue to try and win him over though.

As long as he's made aware of how desperate many of us are but he will still have to keep to the guidelines, unless a miracle happens and they are brought up-to-date. Endocrinology might not be as appealing as Paediatrics either.

Frightening, isn't it. And the thing that springs to my mind is : ranges for TSH, FT4 and FT3. Sticking blindly to those ranges is doing untold harm.

I agree. Many of them cannot seem to know how best to treat us and stick ridgidly to the guidelines.
