Had the above since I have had Hashimotos. Some creams help but it never goes back to normal.

Yes my lower legs are scaly but not itchy now. My itchy skin rashes which I had for years have cleared up since I've been on thyroid treatment.

I used to get rashes mainly on my stomach, back and in hairline at the back of my neck but sometimes on legs and they would move around. They were red spots and itchy and drove me mad keeping me awake at night. Doctor tried anti-bacterial, anti fungal, and hydrocortisone and nothing helped. If anything the rashes got worse with the creams. In the end I decided I just had to put up with it!

Yes, scaly and dry as a bone. I am late 40's and skin on my legs look like an 80 year old's. I have been using organic rosehip oil for about 3 years but the damage is done

Eating it? Or slathering it?

Slathering! Well, actually I also use it once a week on my hair and started cooking with it ! Since suffering from hypothyroidism my skin and scalp are dry, my hair too. Nothing would work! Until I tried coconut oil. Hope this helps!

Since getting onto an adequate levothyroxine dose I have been able to almost abandon hand-cream of any sort. After being "addicted" to it over many years. Now I only seem to need it due to washing-up liquid and other cleaning products.

That's great that Levo has helped you and your skin!

I had a big problem with red, itchy and weepy eczema in patches on my shins that I'd tried all sorts of medicated washes, topical steroid etc etc and general dry skin - I started 25micrograms of T3 (self medicating) at the end of March and the skin is totally cleared up!

That is so wonderful!! t3 can sure help so many. Unfortunately not me, but that is another long story!!

Hoo yes! I have skin like a reptile's, particularly on my lower legs. I have chronically itchy skin and suffer from urticaria too. No amount of cream keeps it happy. Perhaps you have urticaria? Or even the coeliac rash - I forget it's name now. Worth having a look at the rash on Google - just in case. Autoimmune conditions move in packs - you may have coeliac disease too.
