Anyone try a Naturopath or Chinese Medicine doctor for thyroid issues? Maybe they are better than endos?

Naturopaths or Chinese Medicine Doctors?
Don't know yet but I am about to see one, spurred on by my son, who is training to be an acupuncturist and believes in all things Eastern health wise. Will post if I have any good news.
Hi,
I'm currently seeing a Chinese Practitioner, and have been put on TCM herbal at the moment. So far, little change, but I'm seeing him again on Tuesday, so we'll see how things are.
I'll post here with results when there are any!
😊
I would never use Chinese medicine as they use parts of endangered animals for some of them.
True. But you Don't have to use those particular cures. They do have a lot to teach us in other ways. Besides, do they really do that in England? How many people would stand for that? The Chinese are brilliant at adapting to the country they live in.
Hi,
All the medicine that is prescribed by the Doctor that I see is purely herbal. In my experience so far, that is all I've ever been given. ☺️
But do you feel better?
Hi Enfrance,
Certainly with the urticaria. It was an enormous relief not to be itching all the time, and to be able to sleep without waking up every 30 minutes.
Now I'm having herbal for hyperthyroism.
Since starting my pulse is much better, and my medication has been halved.
It may be that the medication is just doing its job, but the herbal is also for my other symptoms I.e., sweats and low libido.
I'll be posting to update whether it's effective! 😊
Wow, sounds great! Yah good news!! I think its everything: the herbs, treatment, and medicine! I'm very happy for you. Please keep me posted. In about 4-5 weeks, I will have to decide whether or not to go back to the same endo or change completely???
On the whole, I'm still seeing the Endo nurse, although I think the traditional western approach needs the addition of a broader range of treatment.
I'm so glad to have found this site, and grateful to have been able to learn about my condition. In this way, I've been able to take an active part in my own recovery which is a very positive and empowering feeling!
My next step is to get an independent vit/min assessment to see where I'm deficient - if at all; have a good look at my diet ( currently reading Amy Myers book) and continue with the TCM. I also have a very supportive Doctor!
Good luck with your decision. It's not an easy call. 😄
I sort of saw a practitioner of Chinese médicine. The acupuncturist I used to go to had studied Chinese médicine at the same time as he studied acupuncture. But he didn't know enough to really help me. Just told me to stop wearing black! lol But the acupunture was so relaxing and helped tremendously with the pain. Unfortunately, he retired.
I'm going to see a Naturopath next Monday, really looking forward to the appointment. Only problem it will take me an hour to get there.
Please keep me posted. I think I might just move on to a different doctor...at least from what I have read they focus on T3.
Good idea, maybe nice calming Classic FM.
Hi Enfrance. Am totally exhausted from going to Hereford yesterday. He was an absolute sweetie. Said I had had all the right tests, was taking all the right supplements but thinks I'm not converting T4 to T3 - so going to GP for blood tests soon. Also has ordered a heavy metals incl mercury test for me (urine test) and gave me a homeopathic remedy - have taken first tab today. Picked up how much I miss my life and animals in South Africa and has recommended I go for horse therapy as I miss my horse/riding so much. Gave me a huge hug before I left. Going to see him in 2 months. And the horse therapy after that.
