Choking feeling in my throat....

After total thyroidectomy. Is this normal?? Its been nearly 2 years since the operation. Feels like a hair caught in back of my throat one minute then choking me the next!!! Constantly drinking water to try and stop it!! Don't know if it anything to do with my dose of levo which has now been lowered to 150 from alt. doses of 150/175. Should I make an appt with my doc???

Treorchy, did you have the problem before your dose was reduced?

Off and on. But I do have a bad chest at the moment and coughing alot so dont know if it could be that as well. My voice keeps sounding like I got a frog in my throat as well

Treorchy, it doesn't sound like it's connected to the dose increase so perhaps you should see your GP. I find a couple of tablespoons of honey with a wedge of lemon in hot water very soothing on a tickley throat. Even cold, it sort of oils the throat in the way plain water doesn't. You should still see your GP as it has been going on for sometime.

Could it be post nasal drip?
